MOUNTAIN THERMALLING COURSE
Maximise your enjoyment and safety!

Are you a newly qualified pilot with a desire to gain experience, improve your techniques, fly high and perfect your thermalling skills? Why not join us for an Advanced Paragliding Course!

Our Thermalling Course is designed for pilots who have recently completed a basic paragliding course, or pilots with little experience who wish to master the finer points of thermalling and mountain flying.

As with all Fly Adventure Courses, we like to keep groups small (less that 4 pilots) to offer a high standard of personalized training, tailored to the needs of each individual pilot.

If you wish to advance towards XC flight, this is the ultimate course for you!

The course is held in the Valley of Pachacamac and includes 3 days of training from 9am-1pm, all transport and a qualified instructor (who speaks English).

Participating pilots need the following equipment (which is also available for rent from the school) paraglider, harness (with back protection), helmet, emergency reserve, radio, vario and GPS (if possible).

Programme:

Equipment : How to make the most of your paragliding equipment, ensure your safety and expert advice on the best position for thermal flying.
Take-off and landing - Frontal and crossed take-off techniques, safe landing approaches according to the conditions.
Site analysis - Take off and landing areas, where the best thermals may be and dangerous zones.
Climatic Conditions - Mountain weather, valley conditions, wind cycles and transitions.
Glider Control - Understand and achieve more from flying your wing efficiently.
Turbulence - Defensive (active) flying to anticipate, minimize and recover from the effects of rough air, turbulence and collapses.
